Time Out, Red Bee Media to launch Zeebox rival – Media News – Digital Spy

Time Out UK is to launch a new interactive online TV guide using technology developed by Red Bee Media, integrating social media services and real-time Twitter infographics into the viewing experience.

Red Bee’s new RedDiscover application, which works similarly to the recently launched Zeebox social TV service, is to be rolled out as a branded Time Out version in the “coming weeks”. Red Bee, previously BBC Broadcast, has also created an iPad version for Dutch publishing house Veronica.

Here’s a metric worth noting

With the monstrous quarter it reported today, Apple surpassed Hewlett-Packard in PC sales and revenue. Apple sold 15.4 million iPads and 5.2 million Macs in its first quarter. That’s more than 20 million personal computing devices. HP’s PC sales for the fourth quarter were 14.7 million, according to Gartner. Which means Apple’s iPad sales alone surpassed HP’s PC sales, as Apple Insider first noted.

Apples earnings juggernaut has shown no signs of slowing in the post-Steve Jobs era, with the company posting record iPhone and iPad sales.Cupertino says Q1 2012 was its best quarter ever in terms of revenue, bringing in $46.33 billion £29.7bn with profits of $13.06 billion £8.37bn.Apple also announced earnings of $13.87 per share, smashing Wall Street estimates of $10.06 out of the park.However, the biggest story of Tim Cooks first quarter in charge of the company is the all-time record iPhone sales of 37.04 million – up 128 per cent on the corresponding period last year.
